TUMBLR took me away from wordpress to be honest.. i blogged about it’s evils and how i was slowly growing fond of the easy mindlessnes. how hard can it be to just click a button & ‘reblog’ someone elses ideas, words, photos and mindset.. toddler easy.

i’ll keep this short and sweet. back to blogging about the important things i just have to share share share.

I wanted to write here, on my wordpress, my Resolutions of 2010 that I am setting for myself.
Typically each year I make around 3 resolutions… I guess I feel like if I don’t keep one of them, it’s cool because I have 2 others to fall back on.
Plus, aren’t resolutions supposed to be a vow to yourself to change something to better improve YOU, and only you?

Last year I kept all 3 of my Resolutions.. I still plan to keep them as goals of mine.. but I feel I must grow and make anew. With my new Resolutions I feel that I’m also letting go of the reasons why I need a change.

1) Stop Prejudging.

2) Using Twitter and Facebook as often as I do.

3) Practice normality.

→ Twitter exploded. As expected. I had an account for a while.. and I was twittering to my friends on Stickam.com and all of a sudden, Twitter EXPLODED. It became so popular. My first ‘friends’ besides stickam friends I would follow would be:

→ NYE of 09, working at Kailua Town Pub. My first time ever bartending and my first time making a lot of money.

→ Getting into my first real-adult physical fight with my barbacks girlfriend. LONG STORY.

→ Pinkys. I would have to say I made a lot of great great girl friends at Pinkys. The food is the shittiest in the world but their bar is amazing. Probably because of the low grade in alcohol but the prices couldn’t be beat! Pinkys MokuManu made by Nahala or Jeff. Or a Bluberry Burst by Janelle.

→ Bob’s Sports Bar. Many nights spent here, drinking… eating… and taking shots.

→ Edamame. I was on an edamame fix. Seriously. I was probably eating Edamame every single day. It was horrible.

→ Meeting Jason Frank. Wow. We met the day before Valentines day, and if we ever get married– what a story it will be to tell. My friend Genevieve mom, (Aunty Kathy) approached me and asked if I knew her daughter. I said OFCOURSE YES, I MISS HER and after the small talk I got lured in by her and Aunty Beri (my friend Tiffanys now boyfriends mom) over to their table of boys. I had been eyeing out the tall skinny portugese boy since I had sat down and it just so happened to be history after that. He kept on texting and calling me and I gave in.

→ Quitting Kailua Town Pub. That was a sad day for me, but I’m not one to keep a job for very long. I love the place, but school was suffering.

→ Cocktailing at Amuse Wine Bar. Another experience of making a lot of money in a short amount of time. I was exposed to Pleasure Lounge VIP and fell in love with mingling ever since.

→ Quitting after 2 months of Cocktailing. I told myself I would never cocktail AGAIN!!! I ended up hating it for some reason. Oh, that’s right.. the tips were ‘pooled’.

→ Shark Cage Diving! Russ, VJ Owner, invited me to go shark cage diving with 42 Below Vodka. I got to face 2 of my fears, which is HUGE for me. 1) Swimming in Deep Water 2) Swimming near sharks !!! It was crazy

→ Meeting Christa Wittmier (Super CW) for my first time EVER. I had been reading her blog since ’05 maybe? When it was really old-school and (no harm in saying) kinda ghetto layout.. but I still would wait hours for photos to full upload and lurk them. I FINALLY GOT TO MEET HER, and i’m pretty glad to say.. we’re friends! Like, real-friends.

→ The Shack. Probably the main place Jason and I would go on ‘dates’.. haha. Another place where my O.G. Starbucks krew liked to hang out with me.

→ Jason living with me for 2-3 months. From “one week” turned into 3 months, almost 4 I believe. Jasons rent had gotten up’d and his parents wouldn’t let him live in the house so Jason started living with me sooner than I had ever thought.

→ Bones yelling at Megan. That was harsh. It still haunts me too.

→ A lot of classmates or people I knew in High School came back from college in the Mainland to go to school back home????? I have no idea why, but they’re back.

→ Experiencing the shock of no-makeup. Jason is and probably will always be the only boy to really see me without makeup. It’s not like I’m terribly hideous, but like all girls.. we hate being seen by our boyfriends or boys we try to impress, when we aren’t looking our best. I experienced the feeling of relief and normality with Jason.

→ 24 hour fitness gym at 2am. WOW. I did that A LOT. a lot a lot a lot a lot. I would wake up or stay up till 2 and drive to 24HR and work out.. I was on this motivational path to become more fit.. but after 4 months I totally stopped going.

→ Working at Doraku. What a fun time! I made such great friends there that I hope I will never lose touch with. (Stephanie Wong, Almond Joyce, Tomoko and Casey) God, such great times. I sort of, kind of, wish to go back and work at Doraku.. but I ended up working for 4-5 months and quitting. The bar manager made false promises, and he ended up quitting in the end. I would go back, the money was good.. but Waikiki was too far for me to drive into and pay for parking. That sucked. But I love the Doraku Krew <3 Always.

→ Aurora leaving for Florida. That was sad I missed her a lot, but she came back a stronger, more independent person. You go girl!

→ ARIA. Oh, Aria. What great great great great times. I met the love of my life working at Aria. Her name is Monica Ivey. <3 Monica and I worked at Aria together most of the time. I was a bartender and she was a server. The bar/restaurant was NEVER occupied. It was a little hole in a building that no one knew about, but we had some DAMN GOOD TIMES. iPhone searching drink menus, inviting a bunch of friends to the bar for their private party time, secret Karaoke, monica ending her shift but sticking around to play with me while I was at the bar… GOD, such a great time working at Aria.

→ MODEST MOUSE CONCERT!!! That was amazing, thank you Bamp and Monica. I had a lot of fun!! That was crazy, I love Modest Mouse and I got to see them live.

→ Maria’s house! I owe her a night of my life for taking care of me.. What a scary, weird, awkward, yet really fun and exciting night. Oh boy and the morning after… what a killer. But being really tired and not into it while at a Tea House……. I think the both of us felt like we were in a time warp.. or some sort of joke.

→ APARTM3NT. I am blessed and honored to say that I was apart of the making of Apartm3nt. It is still in the works of becoming probably one of Hawaii’s ‘Ultra lounges’ but I was there from day one. So proud of this place. Apartment 3 is what Aria turned into. It was like a magical transformation. Maria became GM and I served there and officially got to closely work with and play with the 2 people who I had heard SO MUCH ABOUT from social life or around town. JONAHFACE and LANDONJUMPOFF. It was crazy. At one point in time, it felt like a bunch of Facebook/Myspace/Internet celebs were all working together. I probably spent my whole 2009 at Apartment 3 as one of my BEST times. I can’t say enough of the place. I made the greatest and closest friends and although good things do come to an end, I feel as if I’ll never end at Apt3. I quit Apartment 3 for school reasons. My grades were suffering because I was making bad choices on my part. And, because I would like to become something in life- I need a college degree. And boy oh boy at WCC that ain’t possible unless you get into UH. So here I am, quitting the ideal job for school. But that is what life is about, compromising.

→ Went on Radio for Hot 93.9 thanks to FLASH. So cool. Yet so awkward and embarrassing. *cough*hair pulling*cough*

→ Side swiped my truck. Gah, that sucked.

→ 1 month after side swiping my truck 2 mexicans ripped me off and scammed me. They jumped out of their Silver Mustang and began pounding out my dent in my car. WITHOUT ME AGREEING. I came back from work and they demanded I paid them 200$. I refused and their mafia fucker demanded I paid or ‘Bad things might happen’. YA RIGHT. It was crazy. Worst thing ever of 2009.

→ Jason got a house/room/roomates. That was nice. Haha!

→ WENT TO EUROPE!!!! My europe trip is all documented in photos on my Facebook. Take a look for more about that. All I can say is: MERCEDES BENZ / CHEAP WINE / LOTS OF WINE / AUTOBAHN / BED AND BREAKFAST INNS / BEAUTIFUL / AMAZING / DANKA / HITLERS HOUSE / MOZART HOUSE / AUSTRIA, GERMANY, KOREA, ITALY I LOVED IT

→ I ate a tomato. Once. I still don’t like them. Sorry 2009. Maybe in 2010?

→ Built part of the bar at SoHo. EXPERIENCED SoHo. Fell in love with Soho. Met Daniel Gray. HAD RAD DANCE PARTYS AT SOHO. Got to stay after hours at SoHo. Broke a lot of dart heads at SoHo. Slipped on my ass thanks to assholes who throw ice at SoHo. Met MARK BECKER of SoHo. (Oh wait, or Did I meet Becker another time??? I can’t remember, but I’ll marry him later in life when he’s in need of a Trophy Wife- FOR SURE) Oh, and FLOSSTRADAMUS. Oh OH and ART SHOWS at SoHo. Cheap drinks at SoHo. MEGATOUCH, lurker kitty good times at SoHo. Yep, I would have to say of all places.. SoHo isn’t the prettiest of places- but it doesn’t have to be.. and that’s truly not the vibe of the place. I found it amazing that a single dude could source help via Twitter to work on his new bar, with his bare hands, all by himself. That’s rad. I also enjoy SoHo a lot because of it’s simplicity. It’s a Warehosue, with 2 rooms. One dedicated to Music/Shows/Concerts/Lots of room to dance and the other room is dedicated to it’s bar/lounging/darts/pool/VIP room upstairs. ***BTW @D_GRAY for my up and coming birthday party in October of ’10 i would like to request something AMAZING- something STARCHILD- something CRAZY, because you sir, shall host my birthday party at your venue and it will be CRAZY AMAZING. Because, I mean.. hello.. it’s me. Duh. (not as cool as CW but.. c’mon…)

→ Bought a Canon Rebel XSi. Stupidest thing EVER. If anyone wants to buy it from me, it’s brand new.. sort of. Not really. I bought it in July.. have everything for it.. I don’t like it and want to buy a smaller compact camera. LMK. But anyway, bought a worthless camera but started taking photos. DASHCOOL.

→ I got sucked into NotaPilgrim.com <3 If you have no idea what this is about, you better learn. Jackie Messinger is my bday twin of 10/12 and she’s amazing. Probably my soul-mate twin in this universe that I have come to love and adore.

→ OH YA, BIRTHDAY PARTY AT MY HOUSE. that was crazy awkward and weird and last minute and fun and rad and lots of food and rained and people forgot and it was on a monday and it was horrible and it was a lot of things i want to forget at the moment but it will be better in 2010.

→ Pearl Ultralounge. I spent a good amount of time and money there. Reunited with my uncle Jason Lent. He’s dope.

→ I GOT A DOG. Aiko is her name and she is a Shiba Inu. I paid for her MYSELF, she was a little over a thousand.. but I saved my pennies and got myself that little doggie in the window. I share her with Jason. She’s my baby.

→ I began watching a new makeup guru on youtube. (JuicyStar07)

→ Missy and I became really good friends. <3 I’m really sad she had to leave for college in Chicago not too long ago but boy oh boy we had some great times. I will always always always keep in touch with her.

→ Jobless kicked in and it’s a big shock. I began to party a little more, got my social life back and now mommy is my moneybank. It’s a hard lifestyle to switch back into.. but hey- gotta do what you gotta do.

→ Gave Jason the best present for his 23rd birthday. Ko’Olina Beach Villa, cooked him dinner, midnight stroll, jacuzzi at night and in the morning, and wondering ending. har har har.

→ Barf and Threw up on Jason a few times. Strangely, he’s still with me and claims he is going to marry me.. so we’ll see how that goes. <3

→ Got over my fear of needles for the most part. I’ve been able to take shots normally without passing out and going into shock. (Thanks Jason Nagamine!)

→ Didn’t get over fear of blood. Saw blood and passed out in Jasons house… it was a bad episode that he had to take care of me from.

→ My first time hearing of 2012!!! : ( I was hooked and convinced the world is going to end due to the movie trailers and the History Channel or Discovery Channel documentaries. JESUS.

→ Met Jasons parents, finally. Met his mom’s side of the family too. Re-met his dad’s side of the family. (I went to winterball in my junior year with his cousin Cameron/met Camerons family thru a xmas party/grandma birthday once)

→ Was warned of the dangers of Twitter so I deleted a bunch of people I didn’t know personally and locked my account.

→ Found my 2009 New Years Resolutions on a piece of paper where I hide in a place to find when the new year approached. I STUCK TO THEM! It was: 1) Kept the same weight (95lbs) 2) Explore new jobs and 3) Let go of the people who are bad influences in my life

→ Watched surfing (which I am not interested in) at the Red Bull house. That was amazing, thanks Rob Mora and CW. It was my first time really going to the North Shore and watching a surf competition. That was Rad!

→ Helping sell merch for THE JUMPOFFS was rad! I’ll still do it when they need the help! I was very very very very shocked to hear that they were actually a great band!

→ A lot more beach time this year with Tiffany. My Best Friend. We’ve spent a lot more time this year than I can think of actually. <3u.

→ FRESHCAFE! CW’s birthday party. That was amazzzzzing.

→&I will miss you my Apartment 3 Fam… maybe next year when I finally have my shit together as far as school goes!! I love you Monica, Kala, Jonah, Maria, Flash, Matty, Claire, Rikita, Nikita, Jess, Jessica, Serena, Roxanne, Kyle, Trevor, Landon, Will, Boogz, Other Kristen, Connie, and you too Chip. Oh and Jake.. even though you creeped me out, it was a good kind of creep. <3 I have to say you guys were a big part of my 2009. I had never met such a great group of people to work with in my entire life. I probably will never get the chance to either. I love you all so much and can’t believe this year has flown by so quickly. You guys were my shoulders to cry on, my personal stylists, my playmates to joke around with, my support system, my inspiration and motivators, the people who I could rely and depend on, we worked as a team and made things happen and I will never be as proud as I am today to say that WE DID IT. It was Us, the servers and the bartenders who worked our asses off to maintain a great vibe of the place and to hold everything together. We are the jelly and F&M is the bread. ^___^

As far as my 2009 goes, I would say this was a great year. I will miss it for sentimental reasons and for reasons being, I hate how time has flown by SO FAST.. But I am looking forward to 2010!!!! Seems like I spent my 2009 working and over the past 3 years as well.. time for a change.

One of my New Years Resolutions is to not use Facebook and Twitter as often… It’s a BOLD resolution, but we shall see…

It’s one of those ‘Do everything for me’ type of gadgets. What this device does is tunes into your car stereo input and it’s output from your speakers is your phone call.

It comes WITH a cradel case that sits in your car that swivels. Oh and did I mention it charges your phoen too? Yup. Kinda pricey but for $60 you know it’ll last you forever. (Or til iPhone comes out with a newer, smaller iPhone model)

Now if your like me, then the only phone calls you really make from your phone are in your car. So having a hands free option with an iPhone can be pretty difficult.. I like dash mounts a lot because from using a Tom Tom it’s easy to see, touch and your listner gets a clearer voice wave from you speaking forward, than trying to speak down into your lap where your phone may be. This brand is Kensington and you can get it at Sears or any appliance store for around $20.

I’m actually excited to share this because I am on the edge of buying another camera. UGH, another camera. I currently have a Canon Rebel XSi and I hate the thing. It’s too big for me and honestly, with no prior camera classes or skills… yup, I don’t know how to use the thing.
So I would sell it… but really~ I am too flaky with that kind of thing. I’ll end up not really selling it to someone who offers because of the shipping or having to go meet someone.. ANYHOW.. CAMERAS.

CANON G9 vs. CANON S90 vs. Any other recommended cameras.

HERE’S THE THING: I am a… I need Macro, I need video, I need crisp clean photos, I need point&shoot, I need my photos to look like it came from one of those Nikon D90′s but not really. You know what I mean? Artsyfartsy.
However, I need a smaller camera I can just whip out… not a bulky P.O.S. like what I have now.
